Art Nouveau Ginkgo Brass Sterling Mask

This mask has been on my mind for over a year now, morphing in small ways overtime, she became an Art Nouveau design, reminding me of the elves of Middle Earth from Lord of the Rings. Inspired by my love of all things fantasy, and in particular by the beautiful elven creatures throughout film and books (and the masquerade ball in Labyrinth), this mask covers half of the face, circling around the eyes, flaring out to the sides, where two beautiful rusted orange silk velvet ribbons are attached with hinges, permitted flexibility for all face widths.

This mask is one of a kind. It certainly hasn't a twin out in the world, nor will it, as each piece I create is its own uniquely beautiful piece. She took approximately five workdays to create and, with the exception of the ribbon, each element was completely hand-fabricated in sterling and brass.

This mask is very comfortable on me. The ribbons have some elasticity to them (just a hint) and it will make the fit securely, without discomfort, when tied snug.

To prevent tarnish, all of the metal, on the face-side and the outside, is sealed with two coats of protectant. This should prevent tarnishing for many years. Over a long period of time, the coat could wear off (the more use it gets, the more the mask will come into contact with objects that could slowly wear it down). I will include important details for you about wear and tear, and replacing the protectant when it's time.

These ribbons are sewn onto the metal attachments. However, if you were following my Instagram stories and wanted one of the other colors (assuming I still have them at the time of purchase), I'd be happy to swap ribbons for you. Since I imagine this being worn with a costume, I know it would be nice to have the right color ribbon, if possible.
