What is our nature as humans? To be kind, thoughtful, to come together in unity with an understanding that nobody is safe if everybody isn't safe? To understand that we are all impacted by harms perpetrated against the poorest or weakest among us?
We are an incredible species, capable of such deep empathy and kindness. It is that which will help us overcome, not singularly, but together. We must RESIST for ALL!
For some reason, ferns feel like resistance. They feel strong, yet soft and flexible. Able to thrive and survive, even when it's dark. This necklace is triple layered. The fern has a lower layer, which is sawn as a shadow to give the fern "pop". The letters, each painstakingly hand-sawn and soldered, spell "RESIST" across the fern. On one side is a really unusual green-colored tourmaline. On the other side is a beautiful Ethiopian opal. The pendant tends to want to sit at a slight angle, as one side is heavier. Though it wasn't intended, I adore the slight asymmetrical placement.
This pendant measures approximately 3.75" across. The necklace sits around 18" in length when worn. If you would like to add an extension chain, there will be an associated fee (not too much).
Note: If you are rough on your jewelry, you will want to treat this with gentle care. While sturdy, elements should never been twisted, torqued, bent, or pulled/yanked.
All of my work, unless copper or brass (you'd see the difference), is 0.925 sterling silver.
