Prunus Kanzan (Sakura) Statement Necklace

Welcome to one of the most elaborate and stunningly beautiful, fully hand-fabricated pieces that I have made to-date.
Prunus Kanzan, or as I like to call it, "Pom Pom Sakura", is a unique cherry blossom tree. Rather than individual flowers on small stems, separated with space up and down a branch, these cherry blossoms sit in large "balls" or "pom poms" on the tree itself. Because of the elaborate ruffled layers, flowers bloom as space allows- as a fully-opened bloom begins to lose petals, smaller buds begin to open, keeping the "pom pom" effect until the tree is at the end of the blossoming period. This is what lead me to include petals blowing away, or as I call it, "sakura snow", into the handmade chain design.
This piece represents a triumph of many challenges, some of them psychological barriers- could I possibly honor this blossom in its fullness, with ruffles and layers? After one flower, I wasn't content. I knew I could make the flower and do it justice, so the next one I wanted to be only partly open, and it was also a success! Then, as I began developing elements of the piece, I recognized that, without buds and without leaves, the piece wouldn't be complete (I knew I would create a branch by hand from the beginning). I made two leaves of different sizes, unsure if I would use them at all. You'll see an image of the cherry blossom these petals came from. I plucked leaves and the flower in the center from the tree and brought them home to be the form of the flower itself. Every element of this piece is from a real Prunus Kanzan tree, including each unique petal.
This piece is heavy and made completely of sterling silver. The chain has a single-double combo for the most part, and then terminates on one side into the hook. The other side are single-single links, in heavier gauge sterling for adjustment. The necklace is adjustable up to 21.5" and at the end of the extension part of the chain are three petals, which dangle down.
In sum, this piece took far more hours that I could include in the offering price. It is almost never that I create pieces this elaborate and I hope she finds a person who will appreciate all the love that went into her creation.

Note: If you are rough on your jewelry, you will want to treat this with gentle care. While sturdy, elements should never been twisted, torqued, bent, or pulled/yanked.
All of my work, unless copper or brass (you'd see the difference), is 0.925 sterling silver.
Please review shipping and return policies prior to purchase (see link at the top of the page).
US Domestic shipping prices on purchases over $100 include USPS shipping and insurance. International buyers who wish for insured postage are welcome to ask and I can obtain pricing through UPS; you would pay the additional charges. UPS across waters (i.e. not in Canada) are quite high with insurance, but I understand shipping during covid has made many of us nervous.
