Rocket Larkspur Mismatch Spinel Kinetic Earrings

These are the most labor-intensive earrings I've ever made. Each flower is hand-sawn, including a separate piece for the center, which is molded and sanded to get it just right. Then, each flower is attached to a stem, a small bud is fabricated, and they're all assembled onto the main stem. After that, it is time to attach the stones. For this pair, I really wanted a kinetic feel, where the focus was on the stones. They swing side to side, though the rivet is a bit loose so they have full movement and the stones get light from multiple angles.

The stones are mismatch spinel. Both are purple, one more pink and one with more grey. They're absolutely gorgeous! I like how the lapidary artist cuts the facets in a range of sizes and widths, making the stones really come to life, but not feel manufactured.

This pair of earrings measures approximately 3" high and weigh 4 grams each.

If you are rough on your jewelry, you will want to treat this with gentle care. While sturdy, elements should never been twisted, torqued, bent, or pulled/yanked.

All of my work, unless copper or brass (you'd see the difference), is 0.925 sterling silver.
